10/11/2009 – At a ceremony held at Flushing Town Hall, Senator Marty Golden endorsed Peter Koo for City Council. Peter Koo is running the 20th Council District seat. Marty Golden is respected by Democrats, Republicans, and Independents because he's authored important laws, fought for Brooklyn's fair share of funding and resources, and shown the kind of independent leadership that people respect. Senator Marty Golden stated, “As a former New York City Councilman and present member of the New York State Senate, I am pleased to endorse Peter Koo for City Council. Peter Koo is living the American Dream.
Coming to this country in 1971 with very little, Peter worked his way through college eventually earning a pharmacy degree.
Today, Peter is a successful businessman, employing many in the community at his pharmacies. Peter is a generous man who is a
supporter of many charitable causes particularly in the area of healthcare and senior citizen services.
Peter us also endorsed by Mayor Bloomberg and State Senator Frank Padavan. Like me, they know that Peter will make an excellent councilman and be a colleague who we can work with to improve the quality of life for all residents of eastern Queens and our city as a whole.
Peter will oppose tax increases and work closely with the Mayor, Senator Padavan and myself to provide our children with the best schools. Additionally, Peter Koo is the only candidate for City Council who has real experience and can say that he has created good paying jobs for residents over the years. Peter has the background, knowledge and position on the issues to be an outstanding Councilman. He will be a representative who will make us all proud.”
